Adults

At St. Alfred we recognize that there is no finish date on our need to grow spiritually and learn about our Lord.  For our adult population we offer different adult formation groups - Christian Women, Amigas de Jesus, etc.  We also offer evening programs such as missions and presentations throughout the year.  In addition to structured activities St. Alfred proudly offers the Lighthouse series of CDs for individual home study.  As a bilingual parish St. Alfred offers educational growth experiences in both Spanish and English.  For more information about upcoming adult faith formation activities please see the website or read the bulletin.

Children

At St. Alfred Parish we know that the children are our future. We believe it is one of our core missions to instruct the next generation of parishioners. Therefore, we are very proud of our Religious Education program. We offer instruction from 1st through 8th grades. The goal is to have children attending every year 1st through 8th; however, we recognize that sometimes, due to family situations, years may have been missed. We offer a Faith Formation track which allows students who have missed grades to catch up and be slotted into appropriate classes for sacramental preparation.

In general, the class schedule follows the secular school year, starting in the fall and concluding in May.

Becoming Catholic - RCIA

RCIA or the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process by which non-Catholic Christians and other non-Catholics above the age of 7 enter into the Catholic Church. RCIA is not only for those who are sure that they wish to become Catholic, but also for those who are just considering or want to find more about the Catholic faith. In general, the class schedule follows the secular school year, starting in the fall and concluding in May.

For more information on classes, please contact the director of Religious Education.

Armada Blanca

Armada Blanca is an ecclesiastical Movement whose main goal is the spiritual care of children with their Consecration to the Father through Mary, with the formation of Nests of prayer and with their preparation for First Communion when they have reached the age of reason.

The Armada Blanca meets on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. DOES NOT MEET DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS!  We invite all children ages 2 and up to come and join us to pray the rosary, learn prayers and come closer to God through Mary our Mother. If you are interested in joining, look for the schedule on the parish online calendar of events and come check us out.

Note: Currently, this group only convenes in Spanish.
